How much will a ton of Carbon (CO2) cost your company in 2015?

A recent review of the Waxman-Markey energy and climate bill, also known as the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates the cost of Carbon will be $13 - $17 per ton in 2015.  With a projected yearly increase of 5% reaching $17 - $22 per ton by 2020, equaling the European Union cap-and-trade program.  The EPA’s analysis of the bill comes shortly after it revealed its “endangerment” finding that carbon emission threaten personal health.

Lisa P. Jackson, EPA Administrator, said at a recent hearing that the EPA’s economic modeling indicates that the investment Americans would make to implement the Carbon cap-and-trade program would be modest compared to the benefits of a comprehensive energy and climate policy.
